Licinio Marastoni was one of the most creative and important manufacturers of Italian racing bicycles in his sixty-year career. Much more than a simple artisan welder, he maniacally took care of every detail in the continuous search for aesthetic and functional perfection, dedicating many hours of manual work to each individual frame, especially those dedicated to the filing and finishing phase. Born on June 15, 1922, he started his business at just 16, building beautiful bicycles with his partner Marco Mazzoni and, subsequently, with Ferdinando Grasselli with whom he remained in business until 1960. In the 60s / 70s he will supply bicycles to champions such as Felice Gimondi, and will begin a close collaboration with Cino Cinelli. In 1972 his son Marco died in a tragic road accident. From that moment on, the bikes will use Marco Marastoni decals in memory of his son who died prematurely.
The bike is in very good condition, just some paint retouching. Original paint, chrome and decals. It is fitted with a Campagnolo Super Record group. Campagnolo Nuovo Record gearbox. Derailleur with pat. Paletti. 3TTT handlebar and stem. Nisi rims.
The bike has been completely overhauled and is ready to ride.
