Giovanni Rivola began his business in the 40s by modeling Brooks saddles in the basement of the house (his loyal customers will become Adorni and Gimondi who had their saddles modified by him) and from the age of 13 he was joined by his son Gianni. In 1964 he opened his own workshop in Massa Lombarda where he began the production of excellent looms in collaboration with Umberto Chiesa who welded the looms and Rivola who completed them with the finishing touches. Rivola frames, albeit undercover for sponsorship reasons, have been used by many professional riders, most notably José Manuel Fuente. From 1978 and for 15 years Rivola bicycles were completely produced in the family. Mel 1992 the business passed into the hands of his son Gianni until 2006, when the company was closed.
The bike in question is a splendid one preserved in perfect condition. It is equipped with a Campagnolo Nuovo Record group. Mafac brakes and brake levers. 3TTT Gran Prix stem. 3TTT handlebar. Nisi rims. Brooks saddle modeled by Giovanni Rivola. The bike is embellished with two Clement Servizio Corsa “red label” tubulars. The bike has been completely overhauled and is in perfect working order.
